Alan Marcelo Salas-Garcia, 4, Tragically Dies After Hit-and-Run Accident in Indianapolis, IN

Alan Marcelo Salas-Garcia, a 4-year-old boy, tragically lost his life on the evening of May 7th in a devastating hit-and-run accident in Indianapolis, IN. The collision occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of South State Avenue and East Raymond Street.

According to authorities, a white Dodge Charger, traveling at an extremely high rate of speed, ran a red light and struck a silver Honda Civic before crashing into a man riding a bicycle with his child. Alan, who was on the bike with his father, was rushed to Riley Hospital for Children but was tragically pronounced dead at 10:00 p.m.

The man riding the bicycle, believed to be Alan’s father, remains in critical condition and is undergoing multiple surgeries. The woman driving the Honda Civic, who was also struck by the speeding vehicle, was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition as well.

The family has set up a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral expenses for Alan. Friends and community members have shared their condolences, with one supporter writing, "Prayers for Alan’s family during this heartbreaking time."

Funeral arrangements for Alan will be announced soon, depending on the availability of the church and funeral home.
