Carolyn Jackson, 76, and James Jackson, 81, both from Franklin County, KY, tragically lost their lives on June 18, 2025, following a single-vehicle crash on East Main Street.
The accident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. EDT when the Ford van they were traveling in veered off the road and struck a telephone pole at the intersection of Butler Drive. The force of the crash was devastating, and Carolyn Jackson was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Franklin County Coroner’s Office. James Jackson, who was also severely injured, was rushed to Frankfort Regional Medical Center but was later pronounced deceased.
The driver, Terrones Mitchell, was also taken to the medical center with undisclosed injuries. Kentucky State Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash, including potential factors like mechanical failure, road conditions, or driver error.
Social media posts from friends and family have filled with heartfelt condolences for the Jackson family. One friend, Michelle Davis, shared, "My heart goes out to their family. They were such kind souls, and this loss is incomprehensible."
