Ann Stone, Galesburg, IL—Ann Stone passed away peacefully at home with her family on September 10th, after facing health challenges following two strokes. She was surrounded by loved ones, including her children and grandchildren, during her final moments.
Ann had been taken to St. Mary’s and later transferred to OSF Hospital in Bloomington, where she spent time in the ICU before being moved to Bounce Back in Galesburg, IL. She returned home after her stay in rehabilitation, where her daughters Kathy and Sharon, along with her son Richard and grandchildren Randy Atwater and Kathy Doney, took care of her. Ann was known for her strong will and independence, but in her final days, she was lovingly cared for by her family, with hospice support.
Despite the difficult circumstances, Ann continued to cherish time with her family, always requesting visits from her grandsons Kyle and C-Jay and asking for her favorite treat, ice cream. Her presence brought joy to those around her, and she enjoyed being surrounded by family members who visited her regularly.
A fundraiser organized by her grandson Kyle Atwater is currently seeking support for Ann Stone’s visitation and funeral service expenses. Out of the $20,000 goal, $700 has been raised so far, with contributions from Robert Mitchell, Sharon Marshall, Carli Starr, and R. David Dunn.
The family expresses their deep appreciation for the support received thus far, both emotionally and financially. They continue to grieve the loss of Ann, a woman whose love and care touched many.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Stone family during this difficult time.
