Brandon Hill, Beloved Father and Educator, Dies Tragically in Wilmington, Delaware Car Crash

Brandon Hill, a 41-year-old father of four and substitute teacher, tragically lost his life in a violent car crash in Wilmington, Delaware, on March 24, 2026. The accident occurred early in the morning, around 4:18 a.m., when a vehicle struck the car in which Brandon was traveling. The collision forced the car several blocks before it became engulfed in flames at 10th and Walnut streets.

Brandon, along with two other victims, 48-year-old Curtis Jackson and 35-year-old Caroline Shockley, died in the crash. Surveillance footage from the scene shows the victims' car being rear-ended before being pushed into the fire. A memorial has been set up at the crash site, honoring the victims' lives.

Family members remember Brandon, affectionately known as "Meatball (Sauce)," as a resilient individual who overcame many challenges, including a traumatic incident in 2004. Despite his struggles, Brandon rebuilt his life, focusing on being a dedicated father and a positive influence on his community.

In an outpouring of support, family and friends have expressed their heartbreak at the sudden loss. “He was the kind of person who would do anything for those he loved,” said one close friend.

Authorities have charged 30-year-old Nicholas Resto with manslaughter and DUI following the crash. Investigations continue as the community mourns the loss of Brandon, a beloved member of the Wilmington area.
