Cathy Lynn Erickson, Beloved Bushland Resident and Cherished Community Member, Dies in Tragic Potter County, Texas Vehicle Collision
Cathy Lynn Erickson, 71, of Bushland, Texas, tragically passed away on Tuesday following a collision between her pickup and a semi-truck on Bushland Road.
Authorities from the Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the semi-truck was stopped at a stop sign on the I-40 Service Road while attempting to turn north onto Bushland Road, when Erickson’s southbound pickup collided in the intersection.
Erickson was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving her family and community in deep sorrow. Her passenger, 69-year-old Sheri Ann Centner of Colorado, was flown by LifeStar to Northwest Texas Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The semi-truck driver, 41-year-old Ricardo Aguinaga of Dumas, sustained serious injuries and was transported to BSA Medical Center.
Community members shared their condolences online, expressing shock and grief over the sudden loss. One friend wrote, "My heart goes out to Cathy’s family. She was such a kind soul and will be missed dearly."
