Claudia Balmaseda Orellanes, 33, Dies Tragically in Boating Accident in Biscayne Bay, FL
Claudia Balmaseda Orellanes, 33, of Coral Gables, tragically lost her life in a fatal boating accident on March 28th in Biscayne Bay, near West Point. She was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash.
According to authorities, a 27-foot boat, operated by 54-year-old Neil D. Schwabe of Coconut Grove, lost control near the Nixon Beach Sandbar. Both Schwabe and Balmaseda Orellanes were ejected into the water and struck by the vessel. While Schwabe was rescued and transported to a local hospital, Balmaseda Orellanes succumbed to her injuries on-site.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission has launched an investigation into the incident, but further details regarding Schwabe's condition have not been released. Friends and family have expressed their deep sorrow, and the community is left mourning the sudden and devastating loss.
