Francis Delball And Dmytro Stechenko Remembered After Queensboro Bridge Bike Lane Collision On Thursday Morning

Francis Delball, 39, and Dmytro Stechenko, 35, died Thursday morning after a head-on collision in the Queensboro Bridge bike lane around 8:30 a.m.

Authorities said Francis Delball operated a Blade GT II electric scooter uphill from Queens while Dmytro Stechenko rode a bicycle downhill toward Queens.

Both riders wore helmets, and emergency responders, nearby medical professionals, and commuters tried to provide aid before ambulances took them to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

Officials said both later died at the hospital as investigators continued to review the circumstances of the collision.

The loss has renewed public concern about fast micromobility devices on narrow bridge paths and city bike lanes.

Memorial and funeral service details will be announced later by family members.
