Roger Stroble, 74, Of Kansas City, Remembered After May 20 Crash Near 34th Street And Merriam Lane
Roger Stroble, a 74-year-old Kansas City resident, died Wednesday afternoon, May 20, 2026, after a crash just after 4:45 p.m. near 34th Street and Merriam Lane.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that a 2019 McLaren 570S traveled westbound at a high rate of speed before striking a 2017 Honda Accord turning onto 34th Street and then hitting a Ford F-250.
Emergency responders took Stroble, who rode as a passenger in the McLaren, to the University of Kansas Medical Center, where medical staff worked to save Stroble.
The McLaren driver, 28-year-old Sidney Kile, also went to the hospital with suspected serious injuries, while the Honda Accord and Ford F-250 drivers had no reported physical harm.
Officials said everyone involved wore seatbelts, and the Kansas Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
