Ulpiano Malachias, a respected Gracie Barra professor and BJJ leader in Houston, died after a motorcycle collision reported around 11:30 p.m. on the West Sam Houston Parkway near Briar Forest Drive.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene, where authorities pronounced Malachias deceased.
Malachias moved from Brazil to the United States and built a widely respected program in Westchase, where students knew Malachias for discipline, kindness, and the “Jiu-Jitsu for Everyone” philosophy.
