Buck Clary died after a doorstep confrontation at a residence in northern Hopkins County, Texas, on Monday, May 12, 2026.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office said doorbell camera footage showed Clary approaching the front door, yelling, striking a glass panel, and reaching into the doorway after the glass broke.
A homeowner fired through the door, and Hopkins County EMS transported Clary to a nearby hospital, where medical staff tried to save them.
A Justice of the Peace later pronounced Clary deceased, and officials reported the case publicly on May 13, 2026.
Investigators continue to review the Ring doorbell footage, examine the damaged door, collect evidence, and interview people connected to the incident.
Officials said no charges had been filed against the homeowner as of the report, and authorities will review the evidence under Texas law.
