Michael Mott Remembered After Fatal Airfield Incident At Denver International Airport Following Late Friday Restricted-Area Entry

Michael Mott, a 41-year-old Denver person, lost their life late Friday night after entering a restricted airfield area at Denver International Airport.

Investigators said Mott did not have a ticket or badge and climbed over security fencing before moving toward a Frontier Airlines jet preparing for departure.

Airport crews paused aircraft movement while emergency teams responded and worked to keep travelers and staff safe.

The medical examiner confirmed Mott’s identity, while Denver Police continue to review Mott’s movements in the hours before the airport incident.

Authorities asked anyone who saw or spoke with Mott before the event to share information as the case remains under review.

The incident has also prompted federal and local agencies to reassess airfield access procedures at the airport.

Details regarding memorial services will be announced at a later time, and family members are expected to share obituary and funeral service information soon.
