Madisonville Infant Samir Brimzy Remembered After Passing Following Lifelong Medical Challenges Since Birth
Samir Brimzy, an infant from Madisonville, passed away on May 13, 2026, after facing major medical challenges from birth.
Samir and twin Samiriah were born to Brittney Brimzy at 24 weeks and 3 days, and both spent their first four months in the neonatal intensive care unit.
After leaving the hospital, Samir continued to need intensive care due to shunt complications, a severe brain infection, repeated seizures, and several brain surgeries.
Samir later relied on a tracheostomy and ventilator for breathing support and also lost much of Samir’s hearing and vision.
Family supporters described Samir as a “Miracle Warrior” whose strength deeply moved relatives, caregivers, and community members.
A fundraiser organized by family friend Ireunna Sanders first helped Brittney Brimzy manage medical needs, then shifted after the May 14 update to assist with funeral and memorial costs.
Details regarding memorial services will be announced later, and obituary and funeral service information will be shared soon by family members.
